The Cycle That Keeps Repeating
The intention is always real.
The new routine starts well - the early mornings, the better food choices, the consistency that feels, for a stretch, like it might finally be different this time.
And then something shifts.
Not a dramatic failure, just a gradual loosening.
The routine starts to slip on the edges.
The choices get a little less careful.
The momentum that felt solid quietly drains away, and before long you're more or less back where you started, wondering how something that was going so well stopped going.
The frustrating part isn't the lapse itself.
It's the recognition that you've been here before.
That the cycle of starting well and gradually returning to the baseline is familiar enough to feel almost scripted.
You know what to do.
You've done it.
The knowledge isn't the problem, and neither is the effort while it lasts.
Something underneath both of those things keeps pulling in a different direction - something that doesn't respond to a better plan or a stronger commitment.
Why Discipline Runs Out
Health and wellness culture is built almost entirely on the conscious mind - the 5% that can set goals, follow protocols, track progress, and recommit after setbacks.
That 5% is willing and capable.
The problem is that the other 95%, the subconscious, has its own established relationship with your body, your health, and what your daily life is supposed to look like.
And it maintains that relationship with considerably more staying power than willpower has.
The subconscious absorbed a template for how you live - your energy levels, your relationship with food, your body image, your baseline sense of what health feels like for someone like you.
Some of that template came from what was modeled growing up.
Some from beliefs about what you deserve or what's realistic for you.
Some from old emotional patterns where food, rest, or physical neglect became ways of coping that the body learned to return to.
None of it was consciously chosen.
All of it became a program.
When healthy habits conflict with that template, the subconscious generates friction - not dramatically, just enough.
A little more fatigue.
A little less motivation.
The craving that shows up at exactly the wrong moment.
Discipline works against that friction for a while, and then it runs out, because discipline is a conscious resource and the friction is subconscious.
Until the template itself changes, the cycle keeps repeating.
Changing the Template, Not Just the Habit
I came across Inner Influencing at a point when I recognized that the health patterns I kept cycling through weren't a discipline problem - they were a template problem.
I'd tried enough approaches to know what it felt like when something worked at the surface and left the underlying pull untouched.
What I found in Inner Influencing worked at a completely different level.
I trained as a Master Practitioner shortly after, and it's been the foundation of my work ever since.
Inner Influencing is an established methodology built to communicate directly with the subconscious mind - not to motivate it or overlay it with new conscious intentions, but to deliver a clear instruction it can receive and act on without the resistance that keeps old templates in place.
The subconscious template for your health isn't fixed.
It's a program.
And programs respond to the right instruction, delivered at the right level.
The mechanism uses a trigger phrase - "Purple Cow" - embedded deliberately in each statement.
The phrase is unusual by design.
It signals to the subconscious that what's incoming is a direct instruction, not ordinary thought to be processed and filed.
One statement.
Said once.
And the template the subconscious has been using as the baseline for your health gets a new version to work from.
Try It for Yourself
Read each statement below slowly - out loud if you're able to. Say it once, then stop. Let a moment of quiet follow before moving to the next.
Notice whatever arises - a settling in the body, a thought that moves differently, something that feels even faintly like a long-held pattern beginning to loosen.
Statement 1 - The Surface Pattern
"Subconscious, when I say Purple Cow, you will get rid of all the ways I sabotage, undermine, or drift away from my health and wellbeing and keep me free from that from now on, and do this in a way that is natural, easy, instant and graceful. Purple Cow."
Say it once. Then pause and notice.
Statement 2 - The Hidden Layer
"Subconscious, when I say Purple Cow, you will get rid of any belief that being healthy is too hard for me, that I'm not someone who follows through, or that my body is not a place I can feel genuinely good in, and keep me free from that from now on, and do this in a way that is natural, easy, instant and graceful. Purple Cow."
Say it once. Take a breath. Let it settle.
Statement 3 - Opening the Positive
"Subconscious, when I say Purple Cow, you will make it easy for me to naturally care for my health in a way that feels good and sustainable - as someone for whom healthy choices are simply what I do, not what I have to force, and keep me free from that from now on, and do this in a way that is natural, easy, instant and graceful. Purple Cow."
Say it once. Then simply rest for a moment.
What Did You Notice?
Whatever you noticed - even something faint, even just a moment where the familiar internal resistance around health wasn't quite as present - that was your subconscious receiving a new instruction at the level where the template actually lives.
It doesn't always feel immediate.
Sometimes it shows up in a choice that goes differently than expected, in a day where the drift back to old patterns simply doesn't happen.
What you just experienced is the first level of Inner Influencing.
There are deeper levels that work through the older layers - the specific beliefs, the emotional patterns, the body relationship that has been running quietly underneath every health attempt you've made.
Health that requires constant willpower is health that's working against the subconscious template.
When the template changes - when the subconscious holds a new version of who you are in relation to your body - the effort required drops significantly.
The habits stop feeling like discipline and start feeling like simply what you do.
That's the shift this reaches.
You've started it today.
The Free Discovery Kit Takes You Further
What you just did was give your subconscious three new instructions at the level where the health template actually lives. The Inner Influencing Discovery Kit goes deeper — it explains the science behind what just happened, gives you more tools to work with, and opens the door to clearing the older body beliefs and emotional patterns that keep pulling you back to the old baseline.
It's free. And if something just felt even slightly different from the usual cycle of starting well and drifting back — this is where it continues.
